A former central Louisiana police chief has been arrested for the murder of his wife. Avoyelles Parish Sheriff Doug Anderson says they collected enough evidence to charge Charles Mayeaux Junior with second-degree murder and aggravated arson in the death of Shelly St. Romain Mayeaux, who was found inside her burned down home on March 21st. Charles Mayeaux is a former police chief of Evergreen and Sheriff Anderson says he also faces malfeasance charges…

Seth Fontenot, the man convicted of manslaughter in the shooting death of a 15-year-old Lafayette teenager in 2012 has been sentenced to three years in prison. Fontenot will be eligible for parole in 13 months. Fontenot says he shot at a truck filled with teenagers, because he thought they were trying to break into his vehicle. One of the bullets killed Austin Rivault.

The mother of a Baton Rouge teenager was arrested today after officers found her son severely malnourished. 49-year-old Rose Holland is charged with 2nd degree cruelty to a juvenile and also faces drug charges. Cpl. Don Coppola says Baton Rouge police officers discovered the child when responding to a noise complaint.,,,

Coppola says the child is listed in critical condition at a local hospital.

The FBI wants victims of a nationwide sextortion case to come forward. The man behind the crimes is 31-year-old Lucas Michael Chansler of Florida. Authorities say he convinced teenage girls to perform sex acts on camera. FBI special agent Michael Anderson says Chansler has been sentenced to 105 years in federal prison….
