Texas and Oklahoma will join the SEC in 2024, a year earlier than planned. The addition of O-U and Texas means the SEC will need a new scheduling format and it’s expected to result in the addition of a ninth game to its conference football schedule.

Earlier this week, LSU Coach Brian Kelly filed for divorce from his wife of 28 years, but sources with the LSU athletic department say the divorce petition will be withdrawn. There were pictures on social media showing Kelly and his wife having dinner together on Thursday night.

Sunday is the Super Bowl and former Minden and Louisiana Tech star L’Jarius Sneed will play in his second Super Bowl for the Kansas City Chiefs. Minden Football Coach Spencer Heard says there’s a lot of respect for Sneed as he’s known to spend time with elementary students……

The Pelicans will conclude their four-game homestand tonight by hosting Cleveland tonight at 9 PM in the Smoothie King Center. New Orleans has won three in a row and added veteran wing man Josh Richardson yesterday in a trade with San Antonio. Richardson is averaging nearly 12 points and shooting 36-percent from three point territory.
