Congressman Steve Scalise’s guest tonight will be Jefferson Parish Coroner Dr. Gerry Cvitanovich, who’s well aware of the state’s fentanyl overdose crisis. Scalise says the majority of the deadly drug enters the U.S. via the southern border, which President Biden refuses to control.

 

Attorney General Jeff Landry released the Protecting Innocence Report today. Landry says it’s an examination of sexually explicit material at public libraries that may not be age appropriate for children. Landry urges parents to read the report at his website, “AGJeffLandry.com”…:

Turkey Creek Senator Heather Cloud has filed legislation calling on public libraries to implement policy to limit minors’ access to sexually explicit material…or lose public funding.

A Leesville man is in jail, after a local mom caught him sexually molesting her 7-year-old daughter. 35-year-old Thomas McCartney was arrested in Harris Country, Texas and will be brought back to Vernon parish to face justice. McCartney is also a convicted sex offender, with arrests from 2006 and 2010.
