The Pelicans return to action tonight as they host the Hawks. The Pels have won their last two after losing ten straight behind 51 points over the last two games from sophomore guard Trey Murphy. New Orleans sits just one game above .500 in the midst of a tight race in the Western Conference to avoid the play-in tournament while Atlanta is even at 27-27 in 8th in the East. Starting Forward Brandon Ingram and Center Jonas Valanciunas are set to return tonight after missing Sunday’s matchup against the Kings. Tip-off in the Smoothie King Center is at 6:30.
While Nets All-star Guard Kyrie Irving makes his way to Dallas, a new young star has emerged in Brooklyn. Former LSU guard Cam Thomas scored 47 points in last night’s loss to the Clippers making him the youngest player in NBA history to score over 40 points in back-to-back games. This is nothing new for Thomas who led the SEC in points per game in his one season at LSU. Thomas will look to continue this hot streak as he steps into an expanded role in Irving’s absence. Thomas and the Nets will return to the hardwood tonight against the Suns.
