Sean Payton is returning to coaching as he’s agreed to become the new head coach of the Broncos. Since Payton is still under contract with the Saints, Denver will reportedly send New Orleans a late first round pick this year and a second round pick next year. Some Saints fans were hoping for multiple first round picks, but NFL analyst Mike Detillier says those expectations were unrealistic….

So at least the Saints have a first round pick this year as they have the 29th overall selection.

The Pelicans lost their ninth straight last night as New Orleans gave up 16 three-pointers in a 122 to 113 loss in Denver. The Pels are now 3-and-14 since New Year’s Eve and they are back to the .500 mark with a 26-and-26 record. They will try to get a win tomorrow in Dallas.

LSU men’s basketball has lost eight in a row and they are at Missouri tonight.

There are 17 days before opening day and second base is up for grabs for the number one ranked LSU baseball team. With the departure of last year’s starter Cade Doughty, junior Jack Merrifield, transfer Ben Nippolt, utility player Gavin Dugas, and freshman Gavin Guidry are battling for playing time at second. Coach Jay Johnson says there will not be one starter…

The Tigers open the season February 17th against Western Michigan.

It’s national signing day, but it’s expected to be an uneventful day for the LSU Tigers. Three-star defensive tackle Jamel Howard from Chicago could sign with LSU today. He’s also considering Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan, and Miami.

According to on3-dot-com, Louisiana Tech and the Ragin Cajuns have the third best recruiting classes in their respective conferences.
