The Broussard Police Department continues to investigate the theft of 12 squirrel monkeys from a habitat at Zoosiana over the weekend. Police Chief Vance Oliver says they have an idea of how the burglary happened.

A squirrel monkey is the size of a squirrel, so about a foot long, weighing two pounds. If you keep them as a pet, they are known to be very destructive, aggressive during breeding season and they can bite.
