The St. Helena Parish Sheriff’s office says a 12-year-old boy was killed in a utility terrain vehicle crash on the 4th of July and the vehicle’s driver was arrested. They believe 36-year-old Joshua Tharpe of Denham Springs made a sharp turn on an area of wet sand which caused the vehicle to flip and pin the young victim underneath killing him. Tharpe is charged with vehicular homicide and posted $100,000 bond.

As the new school year is quickly approaching, The Department of Health and Hospitals is reminding parents to get their children vaccinated as required by law. CUT 14 (10) “so busy”

A 14-year-old was arrested in Bossier City after detectives discovered the juvenile could be responsible for the stabbing death of a 91-year-old woman he was believed to be robbing inside her home. The teen was charged with first degree murder in the death of Ludella Scott and was transferred to the Wade Juvenile Detention Center.
