The 118th Congress is underway and the U-S House still does not have a speaker. Republican Kevin McCarthy was considered the front-runner, but he did not receive the 218 votes required to win. So could Louisiana Congressman Steve Scalise get the job? Scalise is the majority leader and could be a possible choice, but he has not expressed interest for the post.
