More state troopers will soon be patrolling Louisiana, as the LSP graduated its first accelerated cadet class. LSP’s Sgt. Monroe Dillon says these 23 new cadets brings the total force to 950 officers. He says each individual troop will get 2 or 3 new troopers…:

He says LSP is still over 200 troopers short of where they need to be.

There a risk of some possible severe weather moving through tonight and into tomorrow – especially in northern parishes.  What about the LSU –Bama game tomorrow night in Tiger Stadium? State Climatologist Barry Keim says it should have cleared off well before kickoff…:

The coroner in Baton Rouge says a 1 & 1/2-year-old boy died Monday night from fentanyl in his system. The baby boy was rushed to a hospital but did not survive. A blood test showed the drug. The coroner says the manner of the child’s death is still under investigation.

10th ranked LSU is a twelve-and-a-half point underdog on Saturday night against sixth ranked Alabama. Jeff Palermo reports the Fighting Tiger players are confident…:
