The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries confirms cases of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza Flu (HPAI) in waterfowl. State Wildlife veterinarian Jim LaCour says it’s alarming because this highly contagious form of bird flu can be transmitted to other species.
