The NAACP in Louisiana is asking Governor Jindal to stop the sale of the Sons of the Confederate Veterans license plate…:

Jindal says this matter should be decided by states, not the federal government, and it’s possible lawmakers will address the plate in the next session.

The St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office says a Tuesday night shooting in Breaux Bridge, that they describe as a domestic disturbance, has left three people dead and another critically injured. When officers arrived at the scene, they discovered three people fatally shot aged 72, 58 and a three year old little girl. We’ll have more on this as it develops.

According to a website called nerdwallet, consumers in The Bayou State pay the highest percentage of their annual salary for insurance in the country. Researcher Jeffrey Chu says homeowners insurance is sky high here because of weather issues and so is auto insurance because of the large number of claim rates…:

Nerdwallet found that motorists here pay $7300 dollars a year for homeowners, health, life and auto insurance.

Governor Bobby Jindal’s presidential announcement is slated to happen this afternoon at 4pm at the Ponchatrain Center in Kenner.
