Lt Governor Jay Dardenne has learned Disney-ABC has placed a moratorium on new movie and film production in Louisiana as a result of changes made to the film tax credit program. Nicholls State is mourning the death of one of its most famous alumnus, former Major League Baseball Player Darryl Hamilton. Nicholls State baseball coach Seth Thibodaux says Hamilton will be terribly missed.

Police in suburban Houston say Hamilton was fatally shot by Monica Jordan, who was also found dead, in what appears to be a murder-suicide.

US Representative Steve Scalise of Metairie endorses former US Representative Jeff Landry of New Iberia in his quest to become the state’s next Attorney General.
