Police in Lafayette are trying to determine what led to yesterday’s murder spree that ended with the suspected shooter killing himself. LPD Cpl. Matt Benoit says 36-year-old Andre Felix, of Lafayette, first killed a local man, stole a car and drove to Duson, killed a woman there, then drove back to Lafayette and killed his wife. He then shot himself. Benoit says the whole thing is tragic…:

He knew all the victims personally. The investigation is ongoing.

While talking of Acadiana, one of their own – Attorney General Jeff Landry – makes his desire to be our next governor official. In a campaign video released today, Landry says he’ll be hard on crime and strong on education, which he says is a contrast to the current administration…:

As OPEC announces a cut in oil production, the price of gas keeps rising. The statewide average price of regular today is $3.14. That’s up 3-cents from a day ago and up 21-cents from a year ago. Louisiana AAA’s Don Redman expects a slow increase in fuel costs through year’s end…:

Diesel fuel is now at an average price of $4.50 a gallon statewide.
