The Pelicans tip-off their preseason schedule tonight as they are in Chicago to face the Bulls. It will be the first time we’ve seen Zion Williamson on the court since May of 2021. New Orleans has also announced they’ve signed Larry Nance Junior to a contract extension. Tip-off tonight is at 8:30 on TNT.

The Ragin Cajuns do not have a game until October 13th against Marshall, but Coach Michael Desormeaux is not sure at this point if quarterback Chandler Fields and running back Chris Smith will play because of his injuries. U-L Lafayette is on a three-game losing streak.

In the latest high school football polls. Destrehan remains the number one ranked team in Class Five-A according to the Louisiana Sports Writers Association. Undefeated Parkway and St. Augustine have moved into the Top 10. The Panthers are coming off a win over Captain Shreve and they are ranked eighth, while the Purple Knights are ranked ninth. Homer is the newly ranked number one team in Class 1A.
