A shelter task force from the Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services and an all-hazard incident management team from the State Fire Marshal’s Office are in Florida. State Fire Marshal Dan Wallis says their team can assist in a variety of Hurricane Ian recovery efforts.

There’s more controversy surrounding New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell. The city’s Metropolitan Crime Commission wants the City Council to investigate if Cantrell is living for free in a city owned apartment on Jackson Square. The mayor’s office says there is no obligation for Cantrell to pay the rent.
