LSU women’s basketball coach Kim Mulkey declined to comment about jailed women’s basketball star Britney Griner during a press conference with reporters prior to the team’s first practice of the season. Griner played for Mulkey at Baylor University and the two won two national championships together. Griner is serving a nine-year sentence in Russia for drug possession.

There is now a blood test that can detect cancer without symptoms. The new health advancement became available in the U.S. a year ago. Internal medical physician Dr. David Meyers in Metairie says the test is unable to identify brain or skin cancer, but can pick up on many aggressive forms of cancer.

Meyers says the test is good at finding early stages of Melanoma, pancreatic, bile duct and ovarian cancers. It costs about 950-dollars and in order to get one, a doctor must approve it.
