St. Landry narcotics deputies took down a heroin stash house, after a month-long investigation. Two men are in custody; charged with possession with intent to distribute heroin and manufacturing of heroin. A raid yielded 19 bags of heroin – street value over $100k – some guns and illicitly-earned cash.

 

DOTD says roundabouts are the traffic wave of the future, and the best way to keep traffic moving in high volume areas. Spokesman Rodney Mallett says they take some getting used to, but you’re less likely to get t-boned or rear-ended in one…:

Sheriff’s deputies in Lafayette Parish arrest a man and woman for the death of their toddler. Spokesperson Valerie Ponseti says 29-year-old Dillon Cormier and 23-year-old Deziree Setoon were taken into custody after officers found a 1-year-old child in their home unresponsive. The toddler later died. The charges are murder and cruelty to a juvenile. No other details are yet available.

Rapper Mystikal was arraigned today on charges of domestic abuse by strangulation and 1st-degree rape in Ascension Parish. As expected, the artist – real name Michael Tyler – pleaded not guilty.
