The House Ways & Means Committee meets today to discuss broad state tax reforms, including eliminating the state income tax. The meeting is the result of a resolution passed this spring by Mandeville Republican Rep. Richard Nelson. A fired State Trooper charged with shooting a 19 year old in the back during a traffic stop in 2018 has pleaded guilty to a charge of obstruction of justice, a misdemeanor which keeps her out of prison in a plea deal. Kasha Domingue was indicted on charges of illegal use of a weapon and aggravated second-degree battery. A federal lawsuit alleged Domingue shot Clifton Dilley in the back leaving him paralyzed.
