State Police report they are investigating an officer involved shooting within the Houma Police Department. LSP posted on social media the shooting took place early this morning in Terrebonne Parish and one subject was transported to a hospital due to their injuries. No word on if the officer was the one injured. Troopers say this is an active investigation.

Former New Orleans Mayor Moon Landrieu has passed away at the age of 92. The political family patriarch served as the city’s 56th mayor from 1970 to 1978. Analyst Clancy Dubos says Landrieu transformed New Orleans economically…:

Landrieu had 9 children including Mitch who also served as Mayor of New Orleans, and Mary who served three terms as US Senator.

State Corrections Secretary Jimmy LeBlanc comments on the multiple escapes of juveniles from detention centers this year — and more violent crimes being committed by teenagers…:

But he says the recidivism rate is dropping, meaning less people are going back to prison.
