It’s Labor Day so many are enjoying a day off today. Economist Loren Scott says the state has only recovered 69-percent of the jobs lost during the height of the pandemic. Scott says active hurricane seasons in 2020 and 2021 has slowed down that recovery…

The state’s Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority says it’s been making strides in the fight against coastal land loss, but a large source of funding is set to come to an end in 2032 and that’s BP oil spill settlement money. CPRA executive director Chip Kline says they are aware of the 2032 fiscal cliff and discussing the issue with federal officials…
