LSU held a preseason practice that was open from start to finish to the media. Jayden Daniels took a majority of the first-team reps at quarterback and Coach Brian Kelly says the offense won the day….

Snaps from center Garrett Dellinger were an issue during the practice. Dellinger has never played center before, but Kelly says he’s not concerned and they’ll clean that area up. On the defensive side of the football, Kelly is impressed with McNeese transfer Colby Richardson who has a chance to start at cornerback.

Saints Coach Dennis Allen said today it’s unlikely quarterback Jameis Winston will play in Friday’s preseason game against the Packers. Winston is with the team in Wisconsin as they practice against Green Bay. He participated in warm-up drills, but that was about it. Winston remains day-to-day.

LSU football picked up another commitment last night as they received a verbal pledge from Khai Prean, who is a four-star athlete and is expected to play wide receiver and defensive back for St. James High School.

LSU basketball picked up its first commitment for the 2023 class as six-foot-eight forward Corey Chest says he plans on playing for the Tigers and Matt McMahon. Chest attended McMain High School in New Orleans last season and he’s ranked as the 15th best power forward in the 2023 class.

The Pelicans regular season schedule came out today as they will open the season on October 19th in Brooklyn and host the Jazz for days later for the home opener.
