22-year-old Ivy Lee of Lake Charles faces second-degree murder after her six-month old daughter was left alone in car for several hours. Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Stitch Guillory says family members came forward with information about another instance where Lee left one of her children in the car.

The state supreme court’s rejection to hear an appeal challenging the ban on abortion in Louisiana forces the closure of the three remaining clinics. Kathaleen Pittman Director of the Hope Medical Center for Women in Shreveport says she’ll continue to provide services for women even though she’s not sure where that will be just yet and she remains inspired.

Lafayette Mayor-President Josh Guillory is back from a three-week stay at an in-patient rehab facility in Texas to deal with PTSD and alcoholism, while there he also fought attempts to temporarily replace him with an interim administrator. He insists he was available via phone and email.
