ESPN’s Adam Schefter is reporting it seems unlikely that running Alvin Kamara will be disciplined this season because of a felony battery charge he faces in Las Vegas for a fight that occurred a casino. The legal case is still months away from coming to a conclusion. Meanwhile in the NFL Network’s list of Top 100 players, Kamara comes in at number 51.

The Saints will head to Green Bay this week for a couple of joint practices before playing the Packers in a preseason game on Friday night. Rookie left tackle Trevor Penning played in his first NFL game on Saturday. He played well in the first half, but struggled more in the second half, allowing a sack. LSU received another major commitment over the weekend as Zachary’s Kylin Jackson announced his verbal pledge. The four-star safety chose LSU over Texas A-and-M. He’s six-foot-two, 195 pounds and is considered one of the ten best safeties in the nation.

There are reports out of Monroe that ULM will announce the resignation of athletics director Scott McDonald. He’s led the Warhawk athletics program for the last three seasons. ULM president Doctor Ron Berry reportedly received McDonald’s resignation letter on Friday.
