Three bills that are a compromise in the dispute over the Common Core Education standards head to the governor’s desk. Jeff Palermo has the story…:

A day after the session ends, Governor Bobby Jindal will reportedly be traveling to attend a prayer rally this weekend in South Carolina. The Charleston reports Jindal is going to participate in their version of “The Response” on Saturday — similar to the prayer rally held at LSU in January.

A horrible tragedy to report out of St. Landry Parish. A tree fell on top of a teenage girl as she was pulling out of her driving way — killing her. Lt. Clay Higgins says 17-year-old Gaberielle Lajack of Opelousas was a beautiful young lady, niece to one of their deputies and the incident has everyone in total shock…:

Lajack was pronounced dead at the scene.

The legislative session is almost over and lawmakers are scrambling to come up with a budget proposal that Governor Jindal will sign. LaPolitics-dot-com Publisher Jeremy Alford says the issue is mainly being taken up in conference committees with members of both chambers. He says the big battle is the legislature versus the governor…:
