One of the top linebackers in the country has made the decision to play on the West Coast. Many linebacker Tackett Curtis has decided he wants to play at USC over his finalists Ohio State and Wisconsin.

For the first time in school history Louisiana Tech had four players selected in the first ten rounds of the Major League Baseball Draft. Weekend starter Ryan Jennings went in the fourth round to the Toronto Blue Jays, Closer Kyle Crigger went in the seventh round to the Miami Marlins, West Monroe native Taylor Young went in the eighth round to the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Marlin took left-handed pitcher Cade Gibson in the tenth rounder.

LSU relief pitcher Paul Gervase has taken his name out of the M-L-B draft and will return next season after leading the Tigers in saves with six last season. Also, six-foot-eight right-hander Chase Shores from Midland, Texas has removed his named from consideration and will pitch next season for the Tigers. The M-L-B draft concludes today with rounds 11 through 20.
