The Pelicans have another summer league game tonight against the Washington Wizards and hopefully no one else will get hurt. The team announced that second round pick E-J Liddell will be out indefinitely after suffering a torn ACL in his right knee during a Summer League game on Monday night.

LSU baseball coach Jay Johnson got some good news today as signee Paxton Kling announced he’s removing his name from the 2022 Major League Baseball Draft which means he’s heading to Baton Rouge to play for the Purple ad Gold. The outfielder is the Gatorade Player of the Year in Pennsylvania and considered a Top 50 MLB Prospect.

La Tech football has received two commitments from a pair of south Louisiana offensive linemen St. Aug’s Troy Smith and Woodlawn of Baton Rouge’s Roy Brackins.

The Southland Conference released an adjusted football schedule with U-I-W staying in the league and Lamar returning after spending one season in the WAC. Northwestern State will host Lamar to open conference play on September 24th and McNeese will host Lamar in the regular season finale.

The start of the high school volleyball and football seasons are right around the corner and the Louisiana High School Athletic Association is facing a shortage in referees. LHSAA assistant executive director Lee Sanders says they need at least four-thousand officials…

Football officials can make at least 72 to 100-dollars a game, plus travel. The deadline to register to be an official for volleyball and football is next month.
