A hearing scheduled for today in U-S District court was canceled as a result of the U-S Supreme Court putting a hold on a lower court ruling that said the Legislature must draw a map with two majority Black districts. It’s not the final decision on the merits of Louisiana’s case but Baton Rouge Senator Cleo Fields is hopeful SCOTUS will find the Congressional map used for this fall’s election violates the Voting Rights Act…

Since a temporary restraining order was placed on Louisiana abortion trigger laws, abortions can continue in the state. Director of the Hope Medical Center for Women in Shreveport, Kathaleen Pittman says they are fully booked with appointments and not making any past a July 8th court hearing on the issue

The statewide average price for a gallon of regular gasoline fell another penny today to $4.42. That’s down 8-cents from a week ago. But Triple-A fuel analyst Don Redman says another increase in prices could come at the end of July when refineries shut down for maintenance…
