A judge has sentenced 29-year-old Tre’Veon Demarcus Anderson of Shreveport to life in prison for killing Shreveport police officer Chateri Payne in January of 2019. Anderson was found guilty of planning and executing the murder of Officer Payne as she was getting ready to go to work. Their two-year-old child was inside the home at the time.

A second Senate committee is set to hear a bill that would allow non-felon adults to conceal carry a gun without the need of a permit or training. The bill has been approved by the House and a Senate Judiciary Committee.
