The LSU baseball team picked up its 16th win in SEC play last night with an eight to three victory over the Vanderbilt Commodores. Dylan Crews hit two more home runs to push his total for the season to 20. For the series, he’s 6 for 8 at the plate with three homers and seven RBIs. The Tigers will go for the series sweep this afternoon at 1 PM. This is LSU’s first series victory in Nashville since 2005.

Louisiana Tech also had an eight to three victory as the Bulldogs won in Charlotte. That’s Tech’s 19th Conference USA win. The rubber game of the series is at 10 AM.

ULM gave up five runs in the first inning, but came back to Arkansas State 13 to seven. The win secured a spot for the Warhawks in next week’s Sun Belt Tournament Conference Championship in Montgomery, Alabama. The Ragin Cajuns will be the four seed in that tournament after beating Little Rock 10 to 4. Carson Roccaforte went four for four and drove in his Sun Belt leading 64th run.

In the Southland Baseball Tournament, McNeese advanced to the championship round of the McNeese bracket after doubling up Nicholls eight to four. Cameron Foster struck out a career-high ten hitters in five innings of relief. The Colonels will play in an elimination game today at 1 PM in Lake Charles against U-I-W, who eliminated Northwestern State yesterday.

UNO is in the championship round in the games being played in Hammond. The Privateers held on for a 10-9 win over Texas A-and-M Corpus Christi. The Islanders will face Southeastern Louisiana in an elimination game today at 1 PM.

Southern stayed on top of the West Division in the SWAC with a 12-2 win over Alcorn, Grambling remains a game back of the Jags after outslugging Arkansas-Pine Bluff 18-13.

How about the McNeese softball team, they defeated Notre Dame 11 to 1 in a run rule win in the Evanston Regional. Kaylee Lopez drove in three rusn. The Cowgirls will face host school Northwestern at noon today.

Auburn edged the Lady Cajuns five to four in the Clemson Regional and LSU lost to San Diego State 10 to five in the Tempe Regional.
