The Saints have signed defensive end Cam Jordan to a five-year contract worth 60 million dollars. Just over half of the money will be guaranteed. NFL analyst Mike Detillier says the Saints made the right decision by locking up Jordan long-term….

Former LSU quarterback Bert Jones is on the ballot to be inducted into the 2016 College Football Hall of Fame. Jones led the SEC in passing as a junior and as a senior he helped the Tigers win the Southeastern Conference title in 1970. Former Louisiana Tech football coach and athletic director Maxie Lambright is also on the ballot. Lambright coached the Bulldogs from 167-78, leading Tech to three consecutive Division Two national titles.

The Super Regional Series between LSU and U-L Lafayette will begin on Saturday night at 7 PM. Game two will be played on Sunday at either five or six and if a third game is necessary, it would be played sometime on Monday. The Tigers reached the Super Regionals, because of some excellent pitching. Alex Lange tossed a complete game shutout and Jared Poche was one out away from duplicating that effort on Monday. Coach Paul Mainieri says the entire pitching staff is ready for more low-scoring games this weekend…
