The LSU baseball team erupted for nine runs in the fourth inning on their way to a 17-3 victory over Southeastern Louisiana last night. First baseman Tre Morgan led the offensive onslaught with three hits and he drove in five runs. Tyler McManus continues to swing a hot bat as he went 3 for 3 with two RBIs. The ten-run rule was in effect and the game ended in the seventh. LSU now gets ready to host Ole Miss this weekend, while the Lions begin a big three-game series at Nicholls tomorrow.

The Ragin Cajuns won their eighth straight last night as U-L Lafayette cooked Rice seven to three to start a two-game midweek series. The Cajuns had 15 hits. Heath Hood, Julian Brock, and Kyle DeBarge each had three hits.

Northwestern State jumped out to a four-run lead and defeated ULM ten to five. Larson Fontenot had 5 RBI. Also, Stephen F Austin over Grambling 14-11 and Lamar knocked off Southern 10 to 1.

Newman quarterback Arch Manning has told On-3 sports that he plans on visiting LSU. He’s the nation’s number one recruit in the upcoming recruiting class according to 24-7. Manning says he’s also planning on visiting Billy Napier at Florida. He’s already taken trips to Texas, Georgia and Alabama.

When Tom Brady’s playing days are over he’ll join Fox and serve as their lead football analyst. Former Saints Coach Sean Payton has expressed interest in becoming a TV analyst but has yet to land a job yet.

Former LSU baseball star and Kim Mulkey’s son, Kramer Robertson, is in the big leagues as he’s been called up by the St. Louis Cardinals. Roberton appeared as a pinch-runner in the Cardinals five to three defeat to Baltimore last night.

In softball tournament action, ULM was eliminated from the Sun Belt Tournament. Northwestern State held on to beat UIW four to three and will play top-seeded McNeese this morning at 11 AM in Hammond. Southeastern Louisiana defeated Nicholls ten to two.
