D-1-baseball-dot-com has its latest projections of the 64-team NCAA tournament field. Included among them are four Louisiana schools, predicting McNeese and Louisiana Tech to join LSU in Baton Rouge for an opening regional. The Tigers have made a climb in the rankings as of late, and D1 managing editor Kendall Rogers says they’re in position to host for the 27th time in program history…:

Louisiana Tech is looking to make it back to the postseason for the second consecutive season. Rogers says Tech’s experienced roster makes them the type of team that no one will want to face in the postseason…:

A couple of big signings for LSU hoops. Last season’s Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Year, KJ Williams, joins Matt McMahon after transferring from Murray State. He averaged 18 points and eight rebounds per game for the Racers last season.

And Kim Mulkey scores another major win, as All-American Angel Reese heads to Baton Rouge after two seasons at Maryland. Last season, she became the first Maryland player since 1975 to average a double-double, with nearly 18 points and 11 rebounds per game.

In college baseball, LSU is in Tuscaloosa facing Alabama in an SEC West showdown, and Tulane welcomes Cincinnati in the American. Texas State visits UL-Monroe, while U-L hosts UT-Arlington in the Sun Belt. In the Southland, Nicholls travels to Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Northwestern State and McNeese square off in Lake Charles, while UNO hosts Incarnate Word. Southern stays home to face Pine Bluff, and Grambling goes west to play Prairie View in the SWAC.

The commissioners of the SEC and Pac-12 met with U-S Senators in Washington on Thursday, seeking help with Name, Image, and Likeness policies. Currently, there are no federal regulations around NIL, with laws varying by state.
