The LSU Baseball team looks to punch a ticket to the super regionals this afternoon when they battle UNC-Wilmington in the Baton Rouge Regional Finals. The two teams were scheduled to play last night after the Seahawks eliminated Tulane. But the NCAA decided to postpone the game until today, because of the anticipation of more rain in Baton Rouge. LSU athletic director Joe Alleva called it a “ridiculous decision.” Alleva says since LSU is in the winner’s bracket, they should have a compeitive advantage, but that competitive advantage has been lost, since UNCW didn’t have to play two games yesterday…

The Ragin Cajuns have to be happy that they face a tired team today in the Houston Regional finals. UL Lafayette advanced to the regional championship round with a 2-1 win over Houston yesterday and they play Rice today, who needed 20 innings to beat and eliminate Houston from the tournament last night.

New Pelicans head coach Alvin Gentry will have the opportunity to coach one of the best young players in the NBA. Anthony Davis is coming off a season where he averaged 24 points and shot 54-percent from the field. Jake Madison, who writes for the website Bourbon Street Shots, says Gentry will make sure A-D is the focal point of the offense…
