LSU will face UNC-Wilmington today at noon in the championship round of the Baton Rouge Regional. The Seahawks defeated Tulane 8-2 in a rain delayed matchup yesterday for a chance at the title. The NCAA made the decision to delay the championship round of the regional last night. LSU is one win away from advancing to the Super Regional round of the NCAA Baseball Tournament.

UL-Lafayette is in the final round of the Houston Regional. The Cajuns are one win away from the championship. They’ll face Rice at 1PM this afternoon. The winner of the Houston Regional will face the winner of the Baton Rouge Regional this weekend.

The trial to determine whether Saints and Pelicans owner Tom Benson is competent to make important decisions regarding his franchises begins today in New Orleans. Benson’s heirs are asking that the 87-year-old be declared mentally unfit to manage his affairs. Legal analyst Tim Meche says the court will use reports from doctors who evaluated Benson…

The LSU softball team fell short in their quest for a Women’s College World Series championship as they lost to Michigan in the semifinal round Sunday 6-3. The Wolverines broke a 3-3 tie by scoring three runs in the sixth inning. The Tigers finish their season with a 52-14 record.
