State Police are investigating a two vehicle fatal crash very early this morning on US 190 westbound at the intersection of LA 1 in Pointe Coupee Parish. 21-year-old Devon R. Freeman of Roscoe, TX rear-ended an 18 wheeler, and was pronounced dead at the scene. Speed and impairment on the part of Freeman are suspected. He was not wearing a seatbelt.

A man wielding an ax has been arrested after he went after an officer, and fled in his Baton Rouge Police car. Cpl. L’Jean McKneely says they got the call about 41 year-old Deandre Trahan walking around and attempting to burglarize homes, and when the officer arrived and called for back-up, the suspect attacked…
