Louisiana High School Athletic Association executive director Eddie Bonine is hosting over 60 school administrators in Baton Rouge today in the first of what is expected to be several meetings that will attempt to solve the issues that have led to nonselect versus select split of the high school football playoffs.

The Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation and the Allstate Sugar Bowl have put in a bid to host the College Football Playoff National Championship game in 2019 or 2020. New Orleans is already competing to host the Super Bowls in those same years. Jay Cicero, Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation President says it would be their hope to get both big games in the same year…

It’s being reported as many as 9 cities are bidding to host college football’s national championship game between 2018-2020.

LSU Baseball Coach Paul Mainieri has yet to name a starter for Friday’s NCAA Regional game against Lehigh, but he hinted you could see Johnny Wholestaff. UL Lafayette is inviting fans to Tigue Moore Field to watch the Ragin Cajun baseball games at the Houston Regional. The games will be shown on the scoreboard.

New Louisiana Tech men’s basketball coach Eric Konkol has hired his first assistant coach. His name is Tony Skinn, who had a standout college basketball career at George Mason.
