LSU offensive tackle Jevonte Domond has been charged with felony domestic abuse battery with strangulation. According to the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s office, Domond had a dispute with his finance next to the crib of their newborn baby, when the six-foot-six football player grabbed the victim by the neck and lifted her off the ground. Domond appeared in one game for the Tigers last season and LSU Sports Information Director Michael Bonnette says Domond has been suspended from the team.

The LSU softball team left for Oklahoma City today where they’ll play Auburn on Thursday afternoon in the opening round of the Women’s College World Series. It’s the fourth trip to the W-C-W-S for the Tigers and second with Beth Tornia as their coach.

New Louisiana Tech men’s basketball coach Eric Konkol has hired his first assistant coach. His name is Tony Skinn, who had a standout college basketball career at George Mason. Skinn also played in the 2012 Olympics as a member of the Nigerian national team.
