For a fourth straight season, LSU is a national seed in the NCAA Baseball Tournament, which will get underway when the Tigers host Lehigh University on Friday afternoon. The Tigers received the number two national seed, despite being ranked number one by most of the polls for the entire season. The LSU softball team left for Oklahoma City today where they’ll play Auburn on Thursday afternoon in the opening round of the Women’s College World Series.

The UL Lafayette baseball team is in the NCAA Tournament for a third consecutive season, The Cajuns will face Rice on Friday afternoon. There are 59 former LHSAA players that are in the NCAA Baseball Tournament. Seven from Barbe High School in Lake Charles. Kennon Fontentot, Gunner Leger and Nick Zaunbrecher play for the Cajuns, Jared Foster, Beau and Bryce Jordan are on LSU’s roster and Sam Smith is a pitcher for Ole Miss.
