LSU was named a number two national seed in the NCAA Baseball Tournament and they’ll host Lehigh University this Friday in the Baton Rouge regional. If LSU wins the Baton Rouge regional, they’ll face the winner of the Houston Regional during the first weekend of June. Houston beat the Tigers in the Baton Rouge Regional last year, but Mainieri says his team can’t look ahead to a possible rematch…

Lehigh comes into the regional with a 25-and-29 overall record and beat Navy in a best out of three series to win the Patriot League Championship. First pitch for Tigers-Mountain Hawks game is set for 3 PM on the SEC Network.

The other two teams in the Baton Rouge regional are UNC-Wilmington and Tulane. That game is scheduled for a 7PM Friday night start. If the Green Wave and LSU win on Friday, they’ll face each other on Saturday night.

U-L Lafayette has made it to the NCAA Tournament for a third straight season. The Ragin Cajuns received an automatic bid after winning the Sun Belt Tournament and they’ll battle Rice, the Conference USA regular season champion, Friday afternoon in the Houston Regional. Cajuns Coach Tony Robichaux says getting into the tournament again is quite a feat considering how much talent they lost from last year’s super regional team…

Houston and Southland Conference Tournament champion, Houston Baptist, are the other two teams in the regional. The winner of the Houston Regional will face the winner of the Baton Rouge Regional in the Super Regional round.

In the majors, Baltimore scored two in the bottom of the seventh to sneak past Houston 4-3. The Rangers defeated Cleveland 10-8. And the Dodgers doubled up the Braves 6-3.
