The Baton Rouge couple accused of beating their 2-year-old daughter to death and then making up a story that she was abducted plead not guilty. Phillip Gardner and Lenaya Cardwell are both charged with 2nd degree murder and obstruction of justice in the death of the toddler, Nevaeh Allen, back in September.
A Louisiana Workforce Commission program to help train new commercial truck drivers has had an overwhelming response. The Drive Your Future program, found online at “LAworks.net”, offers applicants a chance to get federal grant money for their driver training. In the first day online, over 200 people applied.
