New Orleans Police say a man is behind bars after detectives found a dismembered body in a freezer on his property inside a school bus in the 9th Ward. They say 34-year-old Benjamin Beale is booked on several drugs and weapons charges along with obstruction of justice. Cops were searching the man’s home in relation to the disappearance of a woman named Julia Dardar who has been missing since at least last November. This investigation is ongoing.

A study from the National Center for Health Statistics finds from 2019 to 2020 drug overdose deaths increased more than 50-percent in Louisiana. Ben Miller, President of Well Being Trust, says the pandemic made things worse, but this has been a growing problem for some time…:
