A rare May sub-tropical storm has formed off the east coast kicking off an early start to this year’s Atlantic Hurricane Season. State climatologist Barry Keim says Ana is considered a sub-tropical storm because it is still ingesting the air from the middle latitudes. They say the gator was trying to cross the interstate 10 near the Michoud Exit when a van slammed on its breaks near it and then was hit from behind.
