Nicholls Freshman running back Collin Guggenheim rushed for 266 yards and three touchdowns as the Colonels upset 15th ranked Southeastern Louisiana 45-42 in the River Bell Classic last night. The Lions finish the season with an 8-and-3 record and will have to wait until Sunday to find out of its that’s good enough to get into the F-C-S playoffs.

LSU Coach Ed Orgeron says Quarterback Garrett Nussmeier will not play anymore this season in order to preserve his redshirt season. Max Johnson will start tomorrow night against ULM and if something happens to Johnson, freshman walk-on Matt O’ Dowd will play.

In basketball last night, LSU won easily over McNeese 85-46, TCU dribbled past Nicholls 63-50, SMU Mustangs defeated Southeastern Louisiana 78-61 and after a slow start, the LSU Tigers raced past U-L Lafayette 70-41 in the Cajundome.
