The leader of State Police, Colonel Lamar Davis, says it’s absolutely unacceptable it took 15 hours before they found Master Trooper Adam Gaubert dead in his patrol vehicle in Ascension Parish on Saturday during a multi-parish shooting rampage. Davis blames communication failures they are trying to address with new technology. He says they hope the new technology can also prevent the tragedy that occurred this past weekend…

Authorities have charged 31-year-old Matthew Mire with the murder of Gaubert. He’s also accused of killing one of his relatives and another man is in critical condition.
He was booked in a Baton Rouge jail yesterday and troopers say he was in handcuffs that belonged to Trooper Gaubert. Visitation for Gaubert will be Friday night in Baton Rouge and the funeral will take place at St. George Catholic Church.
