The New York Giants spoiled the Saints long-awaited return to a sold-out Superdome as the G-men defeated the Black and Gold 27-21 in overtime. New Orleans had an eleven-point lead with 12 minutes left but the Giants offense started ripping off big plays. New York Q-B Daniel Jones threw for 402 yards in the game, including a 54-yard TD pass to Saquon Barkley. Saints safety Malcolm Jenkins says they allowed too many chunk plays…

The 2-and-2 Saints are at Washington this Sunday. Washington outscored Atlanta 34-30 yesterday. Elsewhere in the NFC South, Dallas downed Carolina 36-28 and Tampa Bay beat the Patriots 19-17 as Tom Brady was victorious in his return to New England. Leonard Fournette had 91 yards rushing.

For the first time since 1999 LSU lost a home football game to Auburn. The Fighting Tigers let a 13-point lead slip away and lost to the War Eagles on Saturday night 24-19. A nonexistent running game is one reason why the Tigers failed to preserve the lead as Ed Orgeron’s team rushed for just 29 yards

LSU has rushed for less than 35 yards against Auburn in back-to-back seasons. The Tigers are at undefeated Kentucky this Saturday.

The Ragin Cajuns moved to 2-and-0 in the Sun Belt with a 20-18 victory at South Alabama. 16th ranked Coastal Carolina crushed ULM 59-6 and Louisiana Tech came up short in their upset bid of 23rd ranked North Carolina State, losing to the Wolfpack 34-27.
