The LSU Tigers will play their final midweek home game of the year tonight against Alcorn State. They will have to do so with temporary foul poles, because yesterday’s strong storm knocked down the ones that were previously installed.

In other action tonight, Tulane hosts Southeastern Louisiana, the Ragin Cajuns, who have won six in a row, are at Nicholls State and Louisiana Tech hosts Stephen F Austin. Eight of the next eleven games are at home for the Bulldogs.

Pelicans head coach Monty Williams met with the media today to wrap up the season. Williams said he’s proud the team exceeded expectations by making the playoffs. The coach did not want discuss whether he deserves a contract extension and says improving their transition defense will be at the top of their list for improvement.

In the latest ESPN-dot-com, USA Softball Collegiate Top 25, LSU has fallen two spots to number five, while U-L Lafayette has fallen two spots from number nine to eleven. LSU avoided a sweep at Missouri last night by beating Missouri nine to nothing. The win ended a three-game losing streak, the longest of the season for LSU.

Tonight, Louisiana Tech’s softball team hosts Stephen F Austin. It’s the final home game of the year for the Lady Techsters.

In college football…Louisiana Tech released its post-spring depth chart and it lists Jeff Driskel or Ryan Higgins as the number one quarterback for the Bulldogs.
