The state health department reported its largest one-day spike in COVID-19 hospitalizations since March 2020 as the number of people in the hospital as the result of the coronavirus increased by 169 to 1,390. L-D-H also reported nearly seven thousand new COVID-19 cases. Governor John Bel Edwards says this current rise in COVID cases and hospitalizations is becoming increasingly scary.
