Governor Edwards vetoes legislation that would have allowed those 21 and older without a felony or other firearm restriction to carry a concealed firearm without a permit or training. The action comes on the heels of a controversial veto that would ban transgender women from competing in female sports. LA Politics.com Publisher Jeremy Alford believes the veto issued today increases the possibility of a veto session next month.

Hammond Police intercepted a plane at Hammond Regional Airport carrying roughly 750,000 dollars in marijuana and marijuana-related contraband. The plane was fueling up in Hammond after flying from California on its way to Miami. The plane’s pilots were questioned but released while a 40-year-old Miami native was arrested.
