The Louisiana Workforce Commission is launching a statewide campaign to get people back to work. Spokesperson Chris Fiore says their statewide ad campaign is aimed at letting residents know that the L-W-C is not just for dispersing unemployment but helping individuals get a job…

They are planning a statewide job fair on August 4th.

What had been a mystery for 60 years is now solved after local historians located the gravesite of Louisiana’s 13th Governor Joseph Walker. Amateur historian Michael Wynne says Walker was buried in 1856 at his family’s graveyard located on his property in Rapides Parish.

Aerial photographs from the 1950s helped them find the gravesite which had been destroyed due to land cultivation.

Jay Johnson has officially been named the new LSU Baseball coach, replacing the retiring Paul Mainieri. Johnson is the reigning Pac-12 Baseball Coach of the Year and took Arizona to the 2021 College World Series. Johnson will be formally introduced at a Monday afternoon press conference at Alex Box Stadium. The California native will be the 26th head coach for the Tigers.
