Klay Thompson’s 26 points and Stephen Curry’s 22 set the pace for the Warriors. Anthony Davis led the Pels with 26 points and 10 rebounds. Golden State has a two games to zero lead in the series with game three scheduled for Thursday night in New Orleans.

An already very good basketball recruiting class for LSU gets better with the addition of Mr. Louisiana Basketball, Brandon Sampson. The MVP in Class One-A this past season has signed his national letter of intent to play at LSU. Tiger Rag Editor Cody Worsham says it’s a big pick-up for Coach Johnny Jones…

Sampson averaged nearly 16 points a game as he led Madison Prep High School to the Class One-A Championship.

LSU is ranked number one in all six college baseball polls that were released yesterday. The Tigers swept a doubleheader from Georgia on Saturday in a rain-shortened series. They host Tulane tonight and then Texas A-and-M comes to Baton Rouge for a three-game series that begins Thursday.

In other college baseball action today, Louisiana Tech is on the road to take on Stephen F. Austin. Nicholls hosts Grambling. McNeese State welcomes Houston to Cowboy Diamond. UL-Lafayette travels to Hammond to face Southeastern Louisiana. And ULM is in Hattiesburg to take on Southern Miss.

In a Top 25 college softball matchup, Number 24 Texas A&M upset Number 3 LSU 5-2 last night at Tiger Park. A three-run homer in the top of the seventh was the difference for the Aggies. This is the Tigers first home loss of the season as they fall to 41-6 on the season. LSU looks to bounce back this weekend when they travel to Missouri for a three-game conference series this weekend.
